Kavo Greco & the sea caves of Agia Napa
On the south-eastern tip of Cyprus lies Kavo Greco national park: rugged limestone cliffs, juniper and seawater that is the clearest on the whole island. A world away from the resort town of Agia Napa around the corner.
What you'll see
The famous sea caves — hollows carved into the cliffs where the sea rushes through — and the photogenic natural rock arch. From the cliff-top path you look tens of metres straight down into turquoise water.
Walking and swimming
The coastal path from Agia Napa to Kavo Greco (± 5 km) is one of the island's most beautiful easy hikes. You can swim at the small ladder bay by the caves; snorkellers will find the finest underwater rocks of the east coast here.
Niki's insider tip
Go at sunrise: the light falls straight into the caves and you'll have the park to yourself. Combine it with a morning swim at Konnos Bay, just around the corner — the favourite bay of many Cypriots.
When to go
year-round; walking is best in spring and autumnWalk in softer light
Spring and autumn are ideal for the coastal paths. In summer, early morning and late afternoon are usually more comfortable than the middle of the day.
We adapt the day plan and activities to the weather, local conditions and any seasonal opening hours.
